I only made half the recipe. I think I made the dark brown bottom layer a bit too thin, that's why it all seems a bit dark. But the taste was very good, chewy, gooey and chocolatey. I'm not a very big fan of cream cheese though, I find it a bit too heavy and these where quite rich and a bit heavy. Very very sweet too, a lot of sugar went in these brownies.

Happy New Year, Lien!
Your brownies look delicious. The chocolate portion was definitely the star of this, but I agree that less sweet would have made it even better.
hello Lien;s , nice to see most of the same bakers here and I like your brownies , they look very moist and delicious too.
Your photos are great! I left in all of the sugar and they were a crowd pleaser.
Yum they look really chocolatey! Some people that ate my brownies said they were too thick. So your thickness would have worked too, and I'd get more brownies if I baked them in a larger pan :)
I think the sugar thing is really interesting. I think people get used to a certain amount of sugar taste and if you use more and more sugar that gets to be the norm for your taste buds. Since I've been cutting sugar amounts for over 30 years, just a very little measure of sugar can really overwhelm me. That was probably one reason I really enjoyed the Lardy Bread. I have to really cut the sugar on these. Love the chocolate look!
Lien the brownies look beautiful. I think the thin layer at the bottom works. Love your swirl pattern.
The lesser amount of chocolate on the bottom really makes the swirls very dramatic...which is cool. If I make these I'll use less sugar. Hard to do cheesecake flavor without the cream cheese, but it does make for rich bars.
Happy New Year Lien!
