Click! March

When I saw the theme of this month's CLICK! "WOOD", I immediately thought about my little wooden spoon.

I bought it two years back in Pitigliano -Italy- in a small olive wood shop. I didn't have much money on me at that point and all I could afford was this wonderful little wooden spoon. Olive wood is very expensive, because the trees grow very slow and are normally used to harvest olives and not planted for wood. Olive wood is beautiful, soft and smooth, different shades of brown and nice stripes.

But this is a photo contest so I'll stop rambling on about my spoon and send in this picture I've posted a while ago when I made the "Gelato di Liquirizia", another Italian goody.

Obviously we share an appreciation for olive wood, I feel just as you do. I treasure my olive wood pieces.
